Anyways...
I hope you enjoy this small glimpse into my life.....
Ohio Is Where I Call Home
A note for everyone.. When I first started this webpage (in 2000) I was still living in
Port Clinton. It is years later and you will read about the changes in my life since then.
Time Doesn't Stand Still -Update!!
Hank and I are living in Buffalo, New York. After losing both of my parents to cancer
and finding out that Hanks Mom was terminally ill we
decided to come to New York so that we could be close to his Mom and also so we could help
to care for her when it became necessary. So in early January of 2006 we came to Buffalo. Hank,
myself, the dogs, the cats and the fish. Hank came one month ahead of me. Sadly, Hank's
Mom took an unexpected turn for the worse and passed away just three weeks after he got here.
We are both so thankful that he got to be here and spend some time with her before she
left us. She left us with a full house of pets to care for on top of the ones we had. So..
as you read about our menagerie of pets below, you can add nine more cats and another
dog to the clan. What a crew. They keep me busy. We love them all. (Most of the time) *smile*
Back to the story...
Being a Mom...
Speaking of Family...
After losing both my Mom and Dad in the last decade, finding family, staying connected with
family and sharing what I have learned with distant family members took on a new meaning.
By clicking on My Genealogy Pages you will be able to view what I
have found as it unfolds. The site is a labor of love for my children and other
family members and a way for me to pay tribute to my Mom and Dad.
Update on Genealogy Webpage
Time to meet Henry & It's a Small World
While doing research for my family (and eventually Henry's) I came across
some pretty startling information. Henry and I are cousins!! *LOL* Not like
you are thinking. In the early 1630's my (Lewis) ancestors immigrated to
the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts from England. In the early 1640' Henry's (Jones)
ancestors immigrated to the same place, Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts from England.
Henry's 8th
Great-Grandfather had a sister named Mary Jones who married a man named Joseph
Lewes who is the brother of my 8th Great Grandfather, George Lewes.
Unfortunately both Joseph and Mary (Jones) Lewes were killed by indians in
1675 in Massachusetts. Pretty amazing, isn't it! I thought so!!
Anyways, it just goes to show you what a small world we live in and that you never know
whos path you may cross during your lifetime. I was first introduced to Henry by a friend.
Henry being a lifelong resident of New York and me being from Ohio, we would never
have met any other way.
Alittle More About Henry/Hank
Our Pets
I (WE) love animals.. It seems like "strays" have a way of finding
and adopting us. At the present time, we have ten cats and three dogs.
Now you can even get a glimpse of a few of our four-legged members of our family.
I really should do webpages for all of them but right now, I just don't have the time.
Below you will see pages for Sox, Daisy, Misty and Belle. The rest of the clan includes
Doodle, our Golden Doodle (Cross between a Standard Poodle and Golden Retriever). Then we have
cats, lots of cats. There is Krusty and Scruffy, two strays that we saved and Dickens, Chloe,
Bertha, Chessie, Bootsie and Blinky, all Maine Coon cats (that we inherited from Hank's Mom).
Another update, as of 2018

Our Fishies
Hank and I started in April of 2000 with one 10 gallon fish tank. By March of
2001, we were up to seven "dedicated" fish aquariums and several that we use as
either fry, quarantine or hospital tanks. There was one point in time that we had
twenty-three tanks running at one time.
At Henry
& Tammys Tropical Fish & Aquariums you can see just how far our hobby had
advanced.
Update!!
Well, it's 2009 now and we have dialed back our fishy hobby quite abit. Moving
from Ohio to New York meant we needed to do some major consolidation. We have two
tanks up and running but several "empties" waiting in the wings. We still have
some of our original occupants from early 2000. The Clown Loaches are getting HUGE.
The largest measures almost 7 inches from the tip of it's tail to it's nose. The rest
aren't far behind. We still have Mr "StudMuffin", our Electric Yellow, and he lives in a
tank with members of his family (about ten generations worth). We still have what we call
"Parrots". They are actually a cross of Gold Severum and Pink Convicts. Then we have some
Tiger Barbs, Rosey Barbs. and several Pleco's and Cories. Hank cringes when I say it, but I
still haven't given up on my dream of setting up a reef tank. :)
Life is good.

Hello...
On The Moon you ask? Well, everybody has to start somewhere. For me, "The
Moon" (aka BlueMoon.net) is perfect!! Forgive me for the small "plug" for Bluemoon,
but BlueMoon Internet Corp is a small company that Hank (you'll learn about him) started
up back in the earliest days of the internet. We still have it, but it is more of a labor
of love than a money maker at this point. It became impossible to compete with the likes of
AOL, Adelphia and all those other major internet providers. You know the story...
Born and raised in Northwest Ohio I'd never really considered living anywhere else. I spent
the majority of my life living in or just outside a small community on the shores of Lake
Erie called Port Clinton. Active at one time in city government (yes, I was one of those
dreaded politicians!), I now strive for peace and quiet.
Well, things change. I still strive for peace and quiet, BUT...
I probably should have inserted the above paragraph about four paragraphs down from here...
Oh well... I think you can figure it all out... Back to the story...
I always knew I wanted to be a Mom. I knew that my children, whoever they would
be and how ever many I would have would be the legacy I would leave to this
world. I have three children, Rachel, Erica and Nathan. Pretty neat kids if I
do say so myself... They certainly have kept life interesting. I was once given
a valuable piece of advice in regards to raising my children. I was told,
"Tammy, Don't ever put something in front of your children that someday
you may have to tell them is wrong" Best advice I was ever given and can
give. They are all three adults now and living their own lives.
Thank you Rach, Erica and Nate for being who you are! I love you.
About twenty years ago I began wondering about the history
of my family. I half-heartedly started researching my heritage. I would do research
for a couple of months then set it aside, but I always would come back to it with the
desire to learn more. Once the internet became available to me I was just amazed at the
amount of information I could find! It was then that doing genealogy research became a
passion. I've spent thousands of hours researchng my family and helping to research the
family of others. It is hard to describe what it is like when you get a "hit" on a new clue or
a tidbit of information that leads you to learning about someone else you are connected to.
Things change, while my personal genealogy website still exists, the family tree is
outdated. It became quite a hassle to constantly try to update the family tree on my
personal website when Ancestry(dot)com has made everything so convenient! So, if you
have connections to the Lewis side or the Criswell side to my family, I will gladly give
you a link to see the up-to-date family tree as I continue to work on it. :)
It's time I explain to the world who Henry is. Henry (I call him Hank) is the love of
my life. Even though I wish I had met him years before, he came in to my life at the
right time. This is going to sound extremely sappy.. but, throughout the years I had always
envisioned who my perfect soulmate would be. Even though I was married twice, deep down I knew
that neither man had all of the qualities that I had envisioned "Mr Right" as having. I don't
want anyone to think that I regret my marriages, well, I do one of them, ALOT, (*ahem*) but
from the first time Hank and I met I knew that I had found "The One". We have our moments,
neither one of us are perfect, but we belong together.
(sappy time over and time to move on to why this is a small world)
Hank is the most interesting man I have ever met. Smart, handsome,
compassionate and funny. I couldn't ask for more (I am abit prejudiced though).
I'll let Hank tell you about himself.
Alot has changed on the furry family front. Reading over the previous
paragraph, I get a lump in my throat. It's been longer than I thought since my last update. That
paragraph had to have been written almost ten years ago. Out of the 13 pets mentioned above, only
4 are still with us and we added another dog. We lost Sox, Daisy, Misty, Belle, Scruffy and Blinky
of old age. Their average ages were about 18 years old. We also lost Doodle, Dickens and Krusty to
either Cancer, complications of Diabetes or due to a blood clot. It's been hard on us. After
losing the last of our dogs, enter Hucklberry. We adopted Huckleberry from Joyful Rescues in the fall
of 2015. He's a mix between a Border Collie and a Flat-Coat Retriever. He is both very special
and very spoiled! He came when I needed him most and was the answer to my prayers.
When I went to pick a puppy out of what was left of the litter, I swear he whispered in my ear,
"I'll Be Your Huckleberry", the rest is history.
Yes, I have gone through my share of trials and tribulations. Most of which I
brought on myself. Would I change anything from my past? (Stupid question)
Of Course! Where I am today in my life I wouldn't change for anything. I have
been blessed with finding a wonderful man to share life with. I have three
absolutely fantastic kids of which I couldn't be more proud of, well maybe
sometimes. I have my extended family that mean the world to me. My pets...
And my friends... What more could anyone want.
