Oliver S. Criswell; 77 Milford Twp farmer died suddenly
Saturday morning at his home four miles north of Six Corners. He had been in
failing health for several months with a heart ailment. Surviving are his wife
Olive; three sons; Clarence of Huntington Park, Calif. Douglas of Springfield,
and Rodney of Bryan, two daughters Edith Phillips Bryan and Mrs. Dora Brown
Hicksville; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a brother Harvey
Criswell Louisville, Ohio. Services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday in the
Methodist Presbyterian church at Edgerton, with Rev Robert Bates, pastor of
Hicksville Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove
Cemetery at Edgerton.

Oliver S. Criswell, aged 77, well known Milford Township farmer died
Saturday forenoon at the family home four miles north of Six Corners. Although in failing
health for some time due to a heart ailment and rsulting complications, his death was
unexpected.
Mr Criswell was born Auguest 4, 1874 at Mapleton, in Starke County, Ohio, and was a son of
Harrison and Polly Shearer Criswell. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Louisville,
Ohio, and later as a young man he came to this community. On March 25, 1896 he was united
in mariage with Olive Dietsch of Milford Township. They went to housekeeping at North
Baltimore, Ohio, where Mr Criswell was employed in the oil fields of that area. Except for the
time at North Baltimore and a short time in Indiana he lived his entire married life in
Milford Township, having lived the past forty - six years in the present home where he engaged
in farming. He was a member of the Lost Creek Presbyterian Church and the Milford Grange.
Surviving him are the wife; three sons, Clarence of Huntington Park, Calif., Douglas of
Springfield, O., Rodney of Bryan; two daughters, Mrs Edith Phillips of Bryan and Mrs. Dora
Brown of Hicksville; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey
Criswell of Louisville, Ohio. A son, Eben, preceded him in death November 5, 1938.
The body was brought to the Perkins and Reeb Funeral Home and was returned to the residence
Sunday morning. Services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, in the
Methodist-Presbyterian Church, in Edgerton. The Rev. Robert Bates, pastor of the Hicksville
Presbyterian Church officiated and burial was in Maple Grove cemetery at Edgerton.
