At the age of 15, he came to Ohio and settled in Columbiana County, whe re he resided until 1854, when he came to Defiance County, and settled o n the farm in Farmer Township on which he resided until old age and fail ing health forced him to give up work and in June, 1901, he came to his daughter's home in Bryan where his last days were spent. (From the obitu ary in the Bryan Democrat, 28 Nov 1901, Pg. 1)
